| There’s
a lot riding on your networks. In addition to the highest
levels of security, you require significant reliability, integration,
and performance capabilities. By implementing standards-based
Ethernet access infrastructure, Government agencies can ride
the low cost and high innovation curve characteristic of this
technology. |

Amedia products offer
a wide range of benefits for Government deployed networks.
Among them are:
- High Levels of Security: Security is
provided through several means. The ESON (Ethernet Switched
Optical Network) architecture uses a dedicated
fiber for each Premises Gateway – no sharing
of the media. SNMP v.3 also offers the
highest levels of administrative signaling security.
- … And More Security: The QoStream™
Director provides for extensive authentication
for server access, as well as hooks for redundant
NOCs. Level 2 switching / MAC addressing eliminates
many of the security issues associated with IP
- Integration Testing: Amedia Networks
offers extensive integration testing and support
(for customers’ own testing facilities) to assure
that interoperability is not a problem.
- Reliability: Amedia’s reliability
is derived, in part, from Ethernet Link Aggregation
(IEEE 802.3ad) which allows for multiple redundant links
between adjacent nodes. Traffic from multiple physical
links can be aggregated into a single logical link during
normal operation. In the event of a link failure, technology
now allows for the data from the failed link to be sent
through the surviving link(s) to ensure a sub-50ms restoration.
- A Truly Hardened Outdoor Premises Gateway Product:
The PG1000 is available in an environmentally
hardened outdoor enclosure that provides separate, lock-secured
access for craft, as well as access for subscribers, and
includes a back-up battery, built-in charger, and environmental
alarms It is engineered to operate within -40°C to
65°C (-40°F to 149°F)
