| As
the primary provider of wired telephony service, major carriers
confront a confusing and uncertain regulatory environment.
How can you assure that the assets on your balance sheets
will not be assets to your competitors and liabilities to
you? Amedia can help. |

Amedia can help you
solve many of your access issues. As a small example, consider:
- Centralized Operations: Amedia’s
ESON based solutions enable a NOC to isolate specific
location and faults without truck rolls or lengthy
analysis by craft. Services can be turned-on, modified,
and turned-off in the same way – from a fully capable
centralized operations center.
- Lower Cost for Operations: The solution
provides for full fault-management, configuration,
accounting, performance, and security (FCAPS)
support, SNMP v.3 southbound and CORBA northbound.
These kinds of management capabilities translate into
significant cost reductions over other alternatives.
- Excellent Distance Options: Distances
between the CO and the AS5000 Aggregation Switch can be
up to 50km, and up to 40km
between the AS5000 and the PG1000 Premises Gateway. This
provides lots of flexibility to optimize cabling topologies.
- Hardened Versions for Outdoor Deployments:
Both the AS5000 aggregation switch and the PG1000 Premises
Gateway are available in hardened versions
to easily integrate into existing outside plant. In these
configurations, they are able to maintain their high level
of performance within temperature ranges of -40°C
to +65°C, as well as within wide
ranges of humidity.
- The PG1000 hardened version is designed to mount on
the exterior of buildings, and allows for separate
locked, access for craft, and an eight hour back-up
power capability.
- Highly Modular Growth: Amedia’s
AS5000 offers both intelligent multicasting and narrowcasting,
low power consumption, highly modular growth,
and pluggable optics – all contributing to a low
cost of on-going operations.
