WAN CONNECTION The WAN connector can be either a 100 Mbps SFP optical or a 100 Mbps RJ-45 copper interface. In this picture as a two-fiber connector is shown; however, single fiber and copper WAN arrangements also are available.

LAN CONNECTORS Four RJ-45 connectors (100 BASE Tx LAN ports) are available for connection of premises Ethernet LAN clients, including Ethernet Set Top Boxes, VOIP telephones, Personal Computers and PC LAN arrangements, Media Converters, and premises wired LAN arrangements.

SERVICE ACCESS A single RJ-45 connector is available for a field service representative to use with a laptop computer for any local operations supported by the Network Operator.

POTS CONNECTIONS Up to four RJ-12 connectors are available for Telephone Service (POTS) telephones or appliances, and provide all associated Battery, Over-voltage, Ringing, Signaling, Current, Hybrid, and Testing functions (BORSCHT) as well as the digital signal processing required by POTS telephones and appliances in the premises.

POWER The POWER connector is a 4x2 connector into which the PG1000 power sources insert. For cases without backup battery, the PG1000 AC power cord (with incorporated external transformer and DC converter) delivers nominal 12 VDC and ground. For cases with backup battery, the APC Broadband Power Shield CP24U12 UPS is used to provide nominal 12V DC and ground to those pins via a connecting cord that terminates on all 8 pins
