Inside or 50km away in the field, Amedia’s QoStream™ AS5000 Layer 2 Fast
Ethernet Aggregator offers exceptional flexibility and scalability in a low power package.
Amedia’s QoStream™ AS5000 Aggregation Switch is a 5Gbps x 5Gbps carrier-grade Ethernet Switch that can reside in a Central Office / Headend building or in the field. It uses a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) for the transfer of network information that requires only the management and provisioning of IP/Ethernet
(versus other technologies which require management of both TDM and packet networks.) Each AS5000 provides up to 48 100 BASE-Fx, 100 BASE-Tx, or VDSL signals for Premises Gateways. These 48 streams can contain traffic from one to five GbE signals. The AS5000s can also be chained for higher concentrations.
2U high designed for a 19” or 23” rack
Hardened version rated at -40°C to 65°C (-40°F to 149°F)
Low Power Consumption -- each AS5000 shelf consumes no more than 125 watts maximally equipped and active.
Battery / DC power back-up
No Air Conditioning or environmental conditioning required
Can be located up to 50 km from the Core Switch
Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) and Fast Ethernet (IEEE 802.3u) protocols and IEEE 802.3x protocol, full duplex with flow control.
Four VLAN priorities (IEEE 802.1p) and provides three classes of service guarantees
Supports link aggregation (IEEE 802.3ad) and bridging/spanning tree (IEEE 802.1D)
Ingress rate limiting per port and per VLAN to support required service configurations
Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) to establish authenticated video services and intelligent multicasting – supports per-subscriber video channel access control.
Supports packet replication and forwarding with wire line performance and provides fast join/leave intelligent multicast support to minimize channel change latency.
Line card interfaces can be either fiber or copper - both CAT5 and Twisted Pairs
Single AS5000 can sinultaneously support line cards providing ESON as well as VDSL-based line cards for Twisted Pairs.
