About Us // Who We Are
Experience, Innovation, and Commitment
A unique combination of highly talented people with an exceedingly wide range of industry experience, innovation from Lucent’s Bell Labs, and a driving passion for helping our customers succeed in delivering broadband services to their subscribers and profits to their shareholders.
Who We Are

Amedia Enables Ultra-broadband
In plain English, this means that every home, apartment, school, and business can receive their own secured bandwidth connection over copper or fiber, ranging from 20Mbps to 100Mbps for voice, data, and video services with guaranteed levels of quality. We offer the gateways that enable service providers to deliver the bundle of services that they must offer to stay competitive in a dramatically changing market place.

So You're a “Service Gateway Company?”
Yes, we make what is a new element in the networks being deployed today. Just as a modem was a new device required when subscribers began using their telephone lines to transmit data instead of voice, the Service Gateway is a new device that allows carriers to manage all kinds of services. Each service can have different transmission requirements – and all over the same access point to the home or office.

What About Subscribers in Multiple Dwelling Units?
That has been a problem for many carriers that want to deliver triple play services to subscribers over fiber optics, but can only reach the living units from the basement of a building via the existing copper telephone wires in its laterals and risers. We have a highly economic way for them to provide that access using the latest DSL technology (VDSL2) and can offer the same services as a direct fiber connection – 100 Mbps.

Do You Also Offer Fiber-to-the-Premises or Fiber-to-the-Node Solutions?
Yes, that too … although we don't make the cables and fibers, but rather the electric/optical systems that sit in the network operator's service centers or in an outside enclosure in the neighborhood that are all connected by that fiber. We offer what we believe is the most cost-effective and flexible kind of FTTP solution: Ethernet Switched Optical Networks (ESON.) We also have a superb solution for Fiber-to-the-Node implementations that transmits from that node over existing copper twisted pairs using VDSL2. Our FTTN solution allows network providers to upgrade to FTTP as their subscribers need those capabilities with a simple replacement of some line cards in our products.
