A number of our managers could have assumed senior leadership positions at any other similar firm, but elected instead to become part of the Amedia Team. Software Architect:

This position is for a candidate with a minimum of five years experience in software architecture and high level design for large software-based data networking systems. Considerable experience with Ethernet-based data networking systems is essential, and experience with customer premises products, especially data/video/voice gateways, is very desirable. Experience in high level design and software development for products with a Montevista Linux operating system is very important. The candidate will work in a structured software development environment, working with very capable and motivated software developers, systems engineers, and business people in a project team. Interface with software architects and lead developers for partner companies is an integral part of this position.

Lead Software Developer:

Demonstrated capability as a lead software designer on a structured software project, with formal handoffs and test planning and execution, is essential for this position. At least ten years experience in software development for data networking systems is required, and experience in developing with Montevista Linux is highly desirable. Solid experience with customer premises equipment, and data/video/voice gateways in particular, is desirable. Other desirable experience is delivering to the market XDSL-based products, working with HPNA/MoCA coaxial terminations, and delivering products with both 802.11 b/g wireless and more recent and evolving 802.11 standards. Knowledge of important operations standards and protocols, including TR-069 and TR-064, is important. The candidate will work as a team leader in an exciting and satisfying development environment with very capable and motivated people around him or her. The candidate will be accountable for delivery of major software releases to System Verification Test for new and exciting Amedia products, some of which will require interface and negotiation with lead people from our partner companies.

Software Developer:

Candidates for these positions should have a minimum of five years software development experience, working as members of small 10-12 person development teams. Experience in structured software development projects with formal handoffs, test planning, and test execution and with individual accountability to deliver major features to system verification test is highly desirable. Experience with Montevista Linux is very desirable, and developing software features for data networking products, particularly data/voice/video gateways is very useful. Other desirable experience is software development for XDSL-based products, working with HPNA/MoCA coaxial terminations, and delivering products with 802.11 b/g wireless and more recent and evolving 802.11 standards. Knowledge of important operations standards and protocols, including TR-069 and TR-064, is important. The candidate will work in an exciting and satisfying development environment will develop major software features for new Amedia products, working alongside and with very capable and motivated people around him or her.

System Tester:

These positions are for system verification testers interested in customer advocacy testing of new data/voice/video customer premises equipment, working as members of small six person system test team. At least five years experience in system testing of Ethernet/IP data networking systems, particularly data/voice/video gateways, is highly desirable. Experience in a structured system verification test environment with formal handoffs, test planning, and test execution and with individual accountability to test major product features is highly desirable. Other desirable experience is system test for XDSL-based products, working with HPNA/MoCA coaxial terminations, and testing products with 802.11 b/g wireless and more recent and evolving 802.11 standards. Knowledge of important operations standards and protocols, including TR-069 and TR-064, is very useful. The candidate will work in an exciting and satisfying system test environment with very capable people around him or her. The candidate will test major hardware and software features for new Amedia products, working alongside and with some very capable team members.

Systems Engineering Director:

The candidate should have at least fifteen years of experience in systems engineering, at least five of which as a Director of a small system engineering team that produced network, system, and product level requirements for customer premises and access network products. Experience in data networking systems is essential, and recent experience with Ethernet/IP, XDSL and/or customer premises gateways for data/voice/video services is highly desirable. Highly developed negotiation skills with partner companies, business people, and development teams are very important to the job. Standards knowledge for XDSL-based and Ethernet-based systems is very helpful. This position requires very good communication skills including strong presentation skills with customers and partners. The candidate will lead a three person systems engineering team in an exciting and satisfying development environment with very capable people around him or her.
